About Equality Weekender

Equality Weekender is an independent digital magazine covering Society, Inclusion, Equality, Stories and Community. People come first here, and the argument follows them. It is part of VUGA Network, a group of independent digital publications published in the United States.

About Equality Weekender

The profile is the working form. A subject gets time, several conversations, and the right to be quoted at length, including where they contradict themselves. Reporting checks whatever can be checked: figures, policies, dates. Anonymity is offered when it is genuinely needed, then honored.

What We Cover

Equality reports on rights as they are actually experienced: protections written into law, the process for making a complaint, and the frequent distance between the two, followed through named people and real cases with the data behind them. Inclusion examines practice inside workplaces, schools and institutions — who gets hired and promoted, whether buildings and systems are usable by everyone, which programs produce measurable change — crediting what functions and identifying what exists only on paper. Society covers the conditions shaping belonging: what housing costs and who gets displaced, how families are formed and supported, the place of faith in public life. Stories publishes first-person essays and extended profiles written by the people who lived them or reported with their full participation, with subjects reviewing quotes before publication. Astrology runs at the weekend, written warmly and without any pretense of prophecy. Community News reports council votes, grant awards and service closures, naming the people involved and how readers can support or contest a decision, while Business News follows the employers and funders behind inclusion promises.

What this magazine refuses is the extractive version, where somebody's hardest year becomes a lesson for strangers who never asked permission.
